Happy Friday B Natural Family!

This week on the B Natural WhatsApp channel, I asked what kind of self-care mood we were feeling going into the weekend, and “Sleep + Recharge #DND” won the poll.

Honestly, I wasn’t surprised.

It is so easy to move through the week constantly overstimulated — always checking something, responding to something, thinking about the next thing. Even during rest, it can feel hard to fully slow down.

So this weekend, I’m leaning into softer routines. More quiet. More rest. Less pressure to always be productive.

And if you’ve been feeling emotionally drained or just tired in general, maybe this is your reminder to slow down too.

Here are a few simple ways I’m recharging this weekend, in case you need ideas for your own soft reset. 🌿

1. I’m Putting My Phone on DND Without Feeling Bad About It

I get staying connected, but sometimes the constant notifications, scrolling, and replying can make my mind feel noisy without me even realizing it.

This weekend, I’m giving myself permission to disconnect.

Not forever. Not dramatically. Just enough to breathe.

Even a few quiet hours without constantly checking my phone can make such a difference mentally and emotionally.

I think a lot of us feel guilty when we slow down or become less available, but rest is necessary. God never intended for us to live in a constant state of exhaustion.

So if you need permission to pause for a bit, this is it.

Put your phone on DND.
Take the nap.
Miss the group chat for a few hours.

The world will still be there later.

2. I’m Romanticizing My Night Shower Again

One thing about me… A good shower can completely change my mood after a long day.

Not a rushed shower, a slow one.

Soft music playing. Candle lit. Taking my time instead of hurrying through it.

Lately I’ve been especially loving the more aromatic B Natural bars because the scents feel so comforting and grounding at the end of the day. Rosemary has this fresh, calming feel after a mentally draining week, while cinnamon orange feels warm and cozy in the best way.

Sometimes I reach for grape seed or apricot when I want my shower to feel light, luxurious and prep my skin for fruity/sweet body mists and lotions.

There’s something therapeutic about steam, warm water, beautiful scents, and finally slowing down enough to be present with yourself again.

It reminds me that self-care doesn’t always have to be elaborate. Sometimes it’s simply turning ordinary moments into peaceful ones.

3. I’m Protecting My Sleep More Intentionally

I’ve realized that getting sleep and being rested are not always the same thing.

Sometimes I technically sleep, but I still wake up feeling mentally exhausted because I carried stress, noise, and overstimulation right into bed with me.

These are some ways I try to make nighttime feel softer:

  • lowering the lights earlier,

  • staying off stressful content before bed,

  • moisturizing my skin slowly instead of rushing,

  • praying,

  • enjoying fresh clean sheets,

  • and trying to get to bed earlier when I can.

Creating a calm atmosphere before bed changes everything for me.

Those little things matter more than we think they do.

I’m also learning that deep rest is not laziness. It’s restoration. And sometimes the most productive thing I can do is simply allow myself to fully recharge.

4. I’m Choosing Rest Over Pressure This Weekend

I used to feel like weekends had to be packed with errands, catch-up work, obligations, or productivity for them to “count.”

But lately, I’ve been trying to unlearn that mindset a little.

Not every free moment has to be optimized.

Sometimes rest looks like saying no.
Sometimes it looks like staying home.
Sometimes it looks like cancelling plans and protecting your energy instead.

I think many of us have gotten so used to surviving in hustle mode that slowing down almost feels uncomfortable at first.

But constantly running on empty catches up to us eventually — mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even physically.

So this weekend, I’m giving myself permission to do less without feeling guilty about it.

Maybe you need that reminder too.

5. I’m Indulging in Small Comforts

I think one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that softness is often found in the little things.

Not expensive things. Not elaborate things. Just meaningful things that help me slow down and feel present again.

This weekend, my small comforts look like:

  • enjoying my favorite meal,
  • making a nice glass of homemade lemonade,
  • rewatching one of my favorite old-time movies,
  • stepping outside to breathe fresh air,
  • admiring a beautiful sunny day,
  • and saying out loud a few things I’m genuinely thankful for.

Those little moments may seem simple, but they help me feel grounded again.

And honestly, I think that’s part of what “Indulge in You” really means.

Not escaping your life, but creating moments within it that help you feel cared for too.

This weekend I hope you rest deeply, breathe easier, and give yourself permission to slow down without guilt.

You deserve softness too. 🌿
